To trace Krishna idols: Hindu petitioners urge court to make ASI a party in case; next hearing on Sept 21

Hindu petitioners in Agra have filed an application to involve the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) in a case regarding the alleged buried idols of Lord Krishna in Chhoti Masjid near Agra Fort. The court has scheduled the next hearing for September 21 to deliberate on this application. The ASI s involvement in the case is still pending approval from the court. The Hindu petitioners argue that the idols were brought to Agra by Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, who allegedly demolished the Krishna Janmabhoomi temple in Mathura in 1670. ....

To trace Krishna idols: Application seeks tech survey of Agra mosque

Hindu petitioners in Agra have requested a technical survey by the ASI to locate idols of Lord Krishna allegedly buried in the Chhoti Masjid near Diwan-e-Khas on the Agra Fort premises. The idols were said to have been brought to Agra by Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, who allegedly demolished the Krishna Janmabhoomi temple in Mathura.
