Fire training programme at all Covid hospitals across Dhanbad Staff members undergo 2-hour mock drill to raise awareness about hazard amid surging cases across state
The staff members of Sahid Nirma Mahto Medical College and Hospital and Central Hospital of BCCL including nurses, ward boys, doctors, sanitation workers and administrative members underwent a two-hour fire mock drill on Monday.
The fire mock drill has been launched at the instruction of Dhanbad Deputy Commissioner Uma Shankar Singh. It will be conducted in all 30 Covid treatment facilities of the district including nine government and 21 private hospitals.
The training was conducted under the guidance of district fire officer Surendra Yadav. He explained the process of alarm operation, stopping central AC, isolating power supplies and evacuation of patients from the hospital in case of a fire emergency.

Over 2,000 railway employees, their dependants and retired railway staff all put together have taken the COVID-19 vaccine so far at the Divisional Railway Hospital in Ponmalai here ever since the vaccination exercise commenced in January.
The Divisional Railway Hospital here is a designated site for administering COVID-19 vaccine exclusively for serving railway staff and their dependants besides retired railway men.
Railway hospital authorities said a total number of 1,520 railway employees, 64 dependants and 540 retired railway employees have got the first dose till now. The number of those who had completed the second dose was 276 till April 16.

Serving at the frontline in railway stations and carrying out duties on board trains amid the pandemic, a vast majority of Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel attached to the Tiruchi Railway Division have taken the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine since February when the vaccination exercise for the frontline warriors commenced.

Divisional Railway Manager Chetan Kumar Shrivastava has said that expeditious actions have been taken by the division to mitigate the impact of the pandemic like conduct of public awareness programmes organised at railway stations, offices and colonies and display of posters and banners.
Announcements through public address systems were being made frequently at all stations in different languages, videos are being shown at stations on the precautions to be taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Intensive cleaning and sanitisation of coaches, station premises and offices were also being done regularly.
