Residents in Rockrimmon living over a coal mine who have seen major damage to their homes plan to keep fighting after a state board recently confirmed they will not see any money for repairs. The sate found expansive soils, not a mine collapse caused the damage. Residents believe the investigation was flawed.
Applicants for a gravel extraction operation along the Colorado River will return to the Eagle County Planning Commission on Wednesday requesting a special use permit to begin mining. County staff has recommended the commission approve.
The $5 million settlement will go towards resolving natural resource damages to the area, including damages incurred from the 2015 Gold King Mine blowout
