County to Resume Collecting Late Parking Fees In August Montgomery County will resume collecting late fees on parking tickets starting August 1, after months of suspended payments due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) stopped collecting late fees on parking tickets in March 2020 in order to prevent “undue hardship” on customers. Late fees accumulated on parking tickets between Jan. 1, 2020 through June 30, 2020 will be waived as long as the tickets are paid by August 1. MCDOT will resume collecting late fees starting Aug. 1. However, late fees for parking citations issued from Jan. 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021, will be waived provided that the tickets are paid by Aug. 1.
