　　杨善集是“我党的早期革命活动家之一”（聂荣臻元帅评语），是广东青年运动的杰出领导者，也是琼崖党组织和武装斗争的创始人之一。他曾任中国共产主义青年团（原称社会主义青年团）广州地委书记、团广东区委书记、中共广东区委青年运动会委员、中共广东区委特派员、中共琼崖特委书记、琼崖军事委员会主席，琼崖讨逆革命军党代表等职。
