Teen accused of shooting, killing Ogden grocer could face more charges, state says


SALT LAKE CITY The 15-year-old boy accused of fatally shooting an Ogden grocer in February could face additional charges based on further investigation of the gun police believe he used, a prosecutor said Tuesday.
We won t know one way or the other until the investigation is complete, Deputy Weber County attorney Letitia Toombs said in Ogden s 2nd District Juvenile Court.
The boy is accused of walking into the Super Grocery convenience store, 675 N. Monroe Blvd., and shooting 65-year-old Satnam Singh. Prosecutors allege the teenager said, this is a stickup before firing four times, striking Singh twice just before midnight on Feb. 28. ....

OGDEN A teenager accused of shooting and killing an Ogden grocer during a robbery will remain in a youth detention center for at least another month.
The 15-year-old boy, whom the Deseret News has chosen not to name at this time, was arraigned Thursday in Ogden’s 2nd District Juvenile Court. He’s facing charges of aggravated murder and aggravated robbery, both first-degree felonies, in the Feb. 28 death of Satnam Singh, 65.

The teen spoke little in the brief online hearing and appeared off camera, replying, Yes, your honor, in response to questions from the judge. His mother also attended the hearing virtually. ....

HELPER, Utah — Police have arrested two juvenile boys in connection with a vandalism investigation at Helper Auditorium.
According to a news release from Helper PD, the acts of vandalism happened on February 28.
[The suspects] forcefully entered the Helper City Auditorium/Library by way of breaking out multiple large windows. After gaining entry to the building the suspects proceeded to vandalize the entire premises, and at one point attempted to set fire to the interior of the building, all of which resulted in several thousands of dollars damage, the news release states. ....
