New York State man faces felony charge
Motorist Chad Sykes quickly realized his mistake as he entered the eastbound lanes and began traveling west on Interstate 180 at the Maynard Street interchange in the city about 2:30 a.m. Sunday, court records stated.
As Sykes, a convicted felon, began to turn around, he spotted a state trooper near the ramp and took a handgun he had in his suitcase and hid it in a paper bag “to make it look like trash” police said. He then pulled over to the south berm.
The trooper soon pulled up along side Sykes’ 2006 Chevy Trailblazer, got out and began to question the Montour Falls, New York, driver.
