The 10 runners will attempt the feat on Saturday as a paired relay and are aiming to complete the challenge in under 15 hours. They are raising cash for the Lake District Calvert Trust, which has been brought to the brink of closure during the COVID-19 pandemic. A spokesman for the group said: “Running the relay dressed as gorillas will hopefully heighten public awareness of their plight and give everyone a little laugh too.
