A Greene Township man accused of fatally shooting a McKean man outside of an adult entertainment club in Harborcreek Township in October will not face the most serious counts of murder when his case comes to trial, likely in 2021.
Erie County prosecutors said in early November that they were not seeking a first-degree murder conviction, a premeditated killing, against 30-year-old Corey R. Kendig in the death of 33-year-old Jeremy Jones on Oct. 13.
Assistant District Attorney Molly Anglin, who is prosecuting the case, said after Kendig s formal arraignment on Friday morning that the facts of the case also do not fit second-degree murder, a killing committed during a felony.
