HOOD RIVER — Though Hood River is a relatively small county in Oregon — as of 2022, the population was 23,888 people — crime and caseloads have increased each year
The state of Oregon is paying $150,000 to settle a lawsuit on behalf of former Hood River County District Attorney John Sewell, who was accused of trumping up a criminal charge against a hospital security manager because her staff had placed a parking notice on his wife’s car. The settlement was filed Wednesday, the same day that the Oregon State Bar filed a formal complaint against Sewell, stemming from his attempted prosecution of Richardson.
