Uyo- Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio has debunked reports that he was detained by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for attempting to bribe the agency’s chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa with $350,000.
Akpabio described the allegation by a renowned online medium as a fabrication and malicious, urging the public to discountenance it.
This is contained in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Anietie Ekong and obtained by Vanguard in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital.
The statement reads: “The attention of the Honourable Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, CON has been drawn to a defamatory article written by SAHARA REPORTERS titled: “How EFCC detained Godswill Akpabio for two hours after attempting to bribe Agency Chairman with $350,000.
