Sai Prema Foundation will be assisting 500 families living in Nadi, Lautoka, Ba and Rakiraki with grocery packs who have been impacted by COVID-19.
Foundation Director Sumeet Tappoo says the pressure felt by families due to the current restricted movement situation has motivated the Foundation to do more.
He says they are deeply saddened by the plight faced by families particularly in the Western Division where employment is heavily reliant upon the tourism industry.
Sai Prema Foundation will be assisting 500 families with grocery packs. Foundation Director Sumeet Tappoo said this is in addition to their on-going national food distribution program. Jan 10, 2021 03:24:55 PM The Sai Prema Foundation is partnering with UN agencies in Fiji to provide 5000 food packs and other relief items to severe tropical cyclone Yasa affected Fijians in the outer islands. Foundation Director Sumeet Tappoo said after partnering with few other organisations and providing more than 7000 packs to affected Fijians in the Northern Division last week, they are shifting the focus to the outer islands. He said the packs will include items that have a long life and can be used by people for some time. We will examine what is needed. It s not about giving for the sake of giving but seeing the need and going forth from there.

500 affected families in the North to be assisted by Sai Prema Foundation Wednesday 23/12/2020
Sai Prema Foundation has pledged to assist about 500 families in the Northern Division who have been severely affected by Tropical Cyclone Yasa.
Foundation Director Sumeet Tappoo says they felt deeply for those affected by the Cyclone and although there is great resilience and strength shown by individuals and families affected, they still need our help.
Tappoo says in these times the country needed to show solidarity and offer assistance to anyone affected.
He adds the Foundation, through the support of individuals and organizations from Fiji and abroad they have prepared a Bucket of Love which contains basic food items including rice, flour, split peas, milk powder, breakfast crackers, tea bags and powdered juice.
