Oklahoman No matter the weather at this year s Festival of the Arts, conditions are as exquisitely cloudy as always in David Holland s familiar booth at the base of the Civic Center s front steps. I kind of stepped up my game a little bit as far as the display goes. I m showing a little bit less work, but . it looks more like a kind of gallery setting instead of a booth setting, Holland said. I really like this is all my newest work. So, I m really excited about what I m showing, and there s one really big piece that s kind of a show-stopper. . ZACH: THAT IS RIGHT. THEY ARE KEEPING COVID FRONT OF MIND. IT WILL BE A FEW MONTHS LATER WHAT IT NORMALLY WOULD HAVE TAKEN PLACE. IT IS A TRADITION. ZACH: THE LONG-RUNNING FESTIVAL WILL BE TAKING THIS SUMMER FUN JUNE 22 THROUGH JUNE 27. IT IS A SHIFT FROM WHEN IT NORMALLY TAKES PLACE IN THE LAST WEEK OF APRIL. THE DECISION WAS MADE TO ALLOW FOR MORE VACCINATIONS TO BE IN PLACE. PUTTING IT BACK TWO MONTHS IN THE HEAT OF THE SUMMER. ZACH: ARTS COUNCIL OKC EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR PETER DOLESE SAYS THEY’VE BEEN WORKING CAREFULLY WITH THE CITY AND HEALTH DEPARTMENT TO MAKE SURE THEY CAN HOLD THE EVENT THIS YEAR SAFEL THEY ARE EXPANDING THE STREETS VENDORS WILL BE ON AS WELL AS CHANGES TO THE FOOD COURT AND CHILDREN’S AREAS.
