April 30, 2021 10:27 am PROVIDENCE, RI (WLNE) – The Rhode Island Director of Human Services, Courtney Hawkins, will officially leave her position May 14. “It will be a priority for the McKee administration to find a candidate to lead this department which plays a crucial role in the lives of so many Rhode Islanders,” Gov. Mckee’s Press Secretary Alana O’Hare said in a statement Thursday. “We thank Director Hawkins for her service and wish her all the best.” Hawkins has led the state’s Human Services Department since 2017. Neither Hawkins nor Gov. McKee’s office has indicated what led her to resign. ....
