'KMC clears 80pc of storm water drain choking points'

The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) claims to have cleared almost 80 per cent of the 169 choking points of different storm water drains across the city.
âPumps have been installed at Sharea Faisal. Drainage machinery has been handed over to technical officers. Action will be taken against those obstructing manholes or drains in the city. It is a criminal act,â said KMC Administrator Laeeq Ahmed on Tuesday.
He was briefing media representatives at the Rosy Warden Headquarters about the existing dewatering pumps, machinery and vehicle arrangements. He also visited various parts of the city.

The medical superintendents of all Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) hospitals will ensure the presence of doctors, including all paramedical staff, at the hospital during the Eidul Fitar holidays.
“Citizens are facing health problems due to Covid-19 and there is a lot of patient pressure on hospitals,” Karachi Administrator Laeeq Ahmed passed these remarks while presiding over a meeting, in which the responsibilities of various departments and deployment of officers and staff during the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays were reviewed.

Administrator Karachi Laeeq Ahmed on Friday directed the medical superintendents (MS) of all hospitals under the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) to ensure the presence of doctors and paramedical staff in the hospitals during the extended holidays of Eidul Fitr starting from May 9 till May 16.
