WOONSOCKET – Most of the discussion of the financial impacts of the pandemic has centered on the funds spent to combat COVID-19, but it’s the ones that weren’t spent that could become a talking point in the upcoming city budget season. Last Friday, Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt announced in a press release the city’s 2020 audit confirmed budgetary surpluses of $479,417 on the city side and $2,562,362 for the Woonsocket Education Department for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2020.
