Area Agency On Aging Preparing For Virtual Celebration

Set for this month is the Region IV Area Agency on Aging’s annual celebration. COO Christine Vanlandingham tells WSJM News the event is a chance to review accomplishments of the last year and look ahead.
“Typically we have about 200 individuals that come out to this,” Vanlandingham said. “Last year we held it at the Carousel Pavilion so we were inside in the Shadowland Ballroom, and we filled the joint. There were times when it was a standing room only event.”
Due to COVID, the party this year will be virtual. Vanlandingham says it will be over Zoom with opportunities for interaction. Two awards will be presented. They are for the Caregiver of the Year and Direct Care Worker of the Year. ....
