3 Mount St. Mary Academy seniors receive diocesan awards

On Tuesday, Jan. 26, three seniors from Mount Saint Mary Academy were honored during a virtual ceremony held by the Diocese of Metuchen.
The St. Timothy Award was granted to Jaclyn Dencker of Westfield, Katherine Kwiatkowski of Metuchen, and Tara Schilke of Pittstown. Kwiatkowski also received the diocese’s St. Teresa of Calcutta Award.
The awards were presented by Megan Vantslot, director of the Diocese of Metuchen’s Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry, and Bishop James F. Checchio.
According to Vantslot, the St. Timothy Award recognizes high school-aged youth who “live as disciples of Jesus Christ, demonstrate Gospel values, witness to their faith by exhibiting Catholic morals and integrity, and reflect Christian leadership in a variety of settings.” ....
