Bayombong bishop recuperating from heart surgery

"We are glad to inform you that Bishop Jose Elmer Mangalinao had a successful coronary angioplasty procedure. Please continue to pray for him for his speedy recovery as he is still in critical but stable condition," the diocese added in a Facebook post. It noted that the bishop is not accepting visitors, but appreciates all those who wish him well. Fr. Roberto Oliveros Jr., diocese chancellor, said the 62-year-old bishop was rushed to a hospital due to difficulty in breathing. "At present, our bishop is in stable condition but was advised to undergo coronary artery heart bypass this coming weekend. We ask all our beloved priests, religious, and faithful to offer your masses, Holy Hours, and recitation of the Holy Rosary for the successful operation and fast recovery of our bishop," Oliveros said.
