Frame policy for biodiesel sale outlets: Bombay HC to Maharashtra government | Mumbai News

MUMBAI: Bombay high court has directed the state government to frame a policy for setting up retail outlets for the sale of biodiesel.
A bench of justices Amjad Sayed and Madhav Jamdar heard a petition by three organisations led by All India Bio-Diesel Association to direct the state to comply with a Central notification of April 30, 2019 notification and to grant its non-objection.
The ministry of petroleum and natural gas had issued the notification for setting up biodiesel pumps and retail sale of biodiesel. The petitioners’ advocate Ranjit Shinde had argued that as per the notification, 11 permissions are required and out of these, nine are required from various authorities of the State. Shinde said despite representation and requests by the petitioners, nothing was done. ....

Farmers hold chakka jam today: 50,000 cops deployed in Delhi-NCR, some metro stations shut

Security has been tightened in Delhi-NCR in view of Chakka Jaam call by farmers. As per officials, around 50,000 personnel of Delhi Police, Paramilitary & Reserve Forces has been deployed in Delhi-NCR. Moreover, several metro stations entry and exit points have been closed as a precautionary measure.
The chakka jam is scheduled to be held between 12 noon and 3 PM on Saturday. The Samyukta Kisan Morcha, the united front of farmers protesting against new farm laws, has urged protesters to hold chakka jam peacefully and has invited all countrymen to join farmers in ending it at 3 PM by continuously honking their vehicles for one minute. The Congress has lent its support to the chakka jam. ....
