It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Eileen Howie at Bethany Didsbury on December 25th, 2020 at the age of 86 years. Eileen was born in Leipzig, Germany on May 29th, 1934 to the late Cecilia and Joseph Schwedelsky. She married Clifford Howie on July 3rd, 1954 in Kindersley, Saskatchewan. Together, they raised four children in the home that they built in 1967, in Didsbury. They shared a wonderful life together for fifty-three years until Cliff`s passing in 2007, during which time they travelled to Germany, England, Scotland, and Ireland. Eileen had a passion for curling, knitting, and gardening, and was well known for her love of playing bingo. Eileen will be fondly remembered for her delicious home baked cinnamon rolls, buns, and maple walnut fudge. Although her recipes were passed on to other generations, no one has been able to replicate the meticulously baked goodies and homemade meals since her fir ....
