9/11 for a lot of questions about, why didn t bush come back sooner? was there really a threat to the white house? there were a lot of tough questions. that would be amplified now. look how much traction some of the conspiracies theories got around, was this an inside job? that was even happening then. i think you d see a lot more splintering. i think it would be a lot faster to blame the current administration for lapses. because i think there s enough of a kind of cacophony in media spaces that are far more disparate and dising aaggregaten they were even in 9/11. i don t think that center would hold. i think there would be people who would argue that is a good thing that you would shine a light on getting more information, more transparency. i don t know where i come down on that question but i think the response would be different. human being to human being it would be the same, but i think our media is so much different. ....
Matters to me and vice versa. i think our media is so much different now, chris. and we saw this. it didn t take but a day after 9/11 for a lot of questions about why didn t bush come back sooner? was there really a threat to the white house? there were a lot of tough questions. that would be amplified now. look how much traction some of the conspiracies theories got around was this an inside job? that was even happening then. i think you see a lot more splintering. i think it would be a lot faster to blame the current administration for lapses. there is enough in media spaces that are far more disparate than they were even in 9/11. i don t think that center would hold. i think there would be people who would argue that is a good thing that you would shine a light on getting more information, more transparency. i don t know where i come down on that question but i think the response would be different. ....
I honestly don’t know why former president George W. Bush isn’t in jail at this present time. He is the man who was used by the Neocons and the Israelis to create total chaos in the Middle East. Now Bush thinks that he can still comment on political issues. He has recently declared that the if the Republican Party can distance itself from “white Anglo-Saxon Protestantism,” then it will rise again. Seriously? Is that really what decent Americans have been struggling with over the past 200 years or so? Aren’t perpetual wars in the Middle East and the destruction of the middle class by technocrats, plutocrats, demagogues, and oligarchic institutions that are ravaging the country? Didn’t Bush himself lick the boots of the Neocons, who ended up destroying countries like Iraq? ....
I don t think that is great, although it has been working. laura: that is no mine. you have recited pretty much the internationalist line on dealing with china. here s the problem with that. if all of these were the way to go, then why didn t quentin do them? why didn t obama do them? why didn t bush do them? why, year after year after year, do we have an expanding trade deficit with china, and they became more bold, more aggressive, and frankly, more vicious and how they ran their trade regime, how they dealt with u.s. companies, a little company not little a company up in minnesota, an example. they do countertops. they just got a decision, i think it was at the international trade court, against what china had been doing. quartz countertops, they ripped off all of their design, put cheat product into the united states probably toxic and we have real jobs on the line in minnesota. real jobs. thankfully, they won, but they ....
Where american dreams and schemes and ambitions come to die. and the fact that this president decided to choose saudi arabia and israel as his first two stops i think is a testament to the fact that he absolutely believes and he s been right so far in what has proven to be an extraordinarily well-scripted trip, in riyadh and so far from what i ve seen, and jerusalem, believes rightly that he s going to get an enormous amount of positive attention and perhaps make some progress. well, on the progress or on the history-making front, christiane, we now see that the president, those images that i hope we can show our viewers once again of him going to the western wall, if you would believe he s the first sitting u.s. president to visit the western wall. why do you think he was the first? i saw this moment and it made me wonder, why didn t obama do it? why didn t bush do it? well, certainly, obama did it before he was a president ....
