Google-free phones anyone? Considering running my phone without Google services. A handful of years ago, I did a few months of that and it mostly worked, but I did have a few pain-points, mainly related to navigation (or services useful to navigation). Here are the 2 biggest ones: 1) If I install a custom ROM like Lineage without Google Services, does it already come with a substitute for Google Location Services or will I have to install something else (and what)? 2) How is the TTS? Did you have to install a separate package or did your install include a decent alternative? (last time I used some open source TTS, the one that worked, sounded like it came from a molasses-filled tomb) ....
