The Combined Vegetable and Native Plant Sale Runs March 20 to April 2 March 15, 2021 Dianna McNair Fullerton Arboretum s Veggiepalooza Monster Tomato and Pepper Sale One year after the COVID-19 pandemic forced the Fullerton Arboretum to close to the public and halt its largest annual sale of homegrown vegetable plants, Veggiepalooza returns this spring offering more than 200 plant varieties in support of its educational programs. The sale runs March 20 to April 2, with members granted early access and a discount on March 19 for the best selection. Curbside delivery is set for April 12-18. This year, ordering will take place online and will include more than 200 varieties of heirloom tomatoes, sweet, mild and hot peppers and varietal veggies. Nearly 1,000 young women from across the country are taking their place in history as the first female Eagle Scouts after collectively earning more than 30,000 merit badges and providing an estimated 130,000 hours of community service, most notably during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. According to Jack Sears, Boy Scouts of America North Florida Council’s scout executive and CEO, local and national award winners are among the inaugural class of female Eagle Scouts. The commemoration of young women and their achievements is a call to action for all young people to continue working to make a positive impact on their communities and the nation. The trailblazing young women come from Anchorage to Miami, Honolulu to Boston, and parts of Asia and Europe where the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) serves American families living abroad. ....
