A coalition of counties and the city of Missoula have applied for a federal grant to fund a planning and feasibility study for the proposed Parks to Passes Trail.
The federal government announced that they will provide $500,000 in seed money to help kickstart construction of BSPRA North Coast Hiawatha route revitalization between Chicago.
“We just crossed a major hurdle in our work to restore passenger rail service to southern Montana when we learned of our inclusion in the Corridor ID Program,” smiled Big Sky Passenger Rail Authority chair Dave Strohmaier.
“This is day 65 and 3,200 miles so far with maybe two weeks left before I finish the journey. I’m shooting for the first part of August,” shared Tim Davis last Tuesday evening under the shaded Douglas fir picnic area at Savenac Nursery.
