The Amritsar (rural) police in coordination with the BSF on Wednesday gunned down a Pakistani smuggler near the India-Pakistan border.
In a joint operation, 22 packets of heroin, weighing approximately 22 kg, two AK-47 rifles, four magazines and 45 live cartridges, along with a mobile phone, a plastic pipe and Rs 210 in Pakistani currency were recovered.
The operation was led by Amritsar (rural) SSP Dhruv Dahiya, who acted on a tip-off. He constituted a team comprising Deputy Superintendent of Police (detective) Gurinderpal Singh Nagra and Assistant Superintendent of Police, Majitha, Abhimanyu Rana, which coordinated with the BSF to lay the siege that was carried out successfully. ....

A Pakistani smuggler who crossed over to India with around 22 kg of heroin was shot dead along the International Border (IB) here in a joint operation of the Punjab police and the BSF, officials said.
They said there was specific information about the movement of Pakistani smugglers towards the Indian territory with consignment of drugs.
Acting on the input, Punjab police team led by SSP Dhruv Dahiya along with Border Security Force (BSF) troops launched a joint operation at the Kakkar border outpost.
During the operation, movement of a Pakistani smuggler was noticed. The smuggler fired at the Indian troops and was shot dead when they returned the fire, a senior police official said. ....

Chandigarh, April 7 : Punjab Police in a joint operation with the Border Security Force (BSF) busted a major narco-terror module and neutralised one Pakistani smuggler at the border outpost in Kakkar forward area in Amritsar district early on Wednesday, officials said.

Amritsar, Apr 7 (UNI) The Amritsar Rural Police, in a joint operation with Border Security Force (BSF) on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday, busted a major narco-terror module and neutralised one Pakistani smuggler at Border Outpost (BOP) Kakkar Forward area falls in Lopoke police station jurisdiction.
A joint combing operation was launched at the site where the cross–border smuggling and infiltration attempt took place, which led to the recovery of 22 packets of heroin (weighing 22.660 kg), one SAIGA – MK Rifle (along with 2 magazines and 24 live rounds of 7.50 mm), one AK – 47 Rifle (along with 2 magazines and 21 live rounds of 7.62 mm), Pakistani Currency, one phone along with 2 Pak SIMs (Telenor and Jazz) and one blue coloured pipe of a diameter of 4 inches and length of 15 ft (Made in Pakistan). ....
