Four suspects in couple harassment case sent on judicial remand - Newspaper

ISLAMABAD: A judicial magistrate of Islamabad on Wednesday sent four suspects in couple harassment case to Adiala jail on judicial remand after the police concluded the preliminary investigation.
The police produced main suspect Usman Mirza, Adrass Butt, Hafiz Ataur Rehman and Farhan before the civil judge Mohammad Azhar Nadeem who is working as duty magistrate during Eid holidays.
The accused were brought to the sessions court in an armed personnel carrier.
When the judge took up the case, the police at the outset requested sending the accused to judicial remand.
Subsequently, the judge remanded them into judicial custody till July 30. ....

Victims of sexual harassment identify three suspects in Adiala jail - Newspaper

Earlier, the suspects were sent to Adiala Jail for identification parade.
Sources told Dawn that the couple told investigators that two of the suspects made videos and one was standing outside the flat.
SP Saddar Zone Farooq Amjad Buttar told Dawn that after the identification the three suspects were produced in the court of law which gave them to police on six days physical remand.
Physical remand of accused extended till 20th
Replying to a question, SP Butter said the video could be admissible as evidence in the court after forensic examination, and they have sent the video to the lab. ....

Rawalpindi : Civil Judge (Rawalpindi) Umar Hasan Khan on Thursday awarded 1-year imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs30,000 on a purse snatcher. The video of the incident went viral on social media that led to early arrest of the young purse snatcher and speedy disposal of the case in seven days.
“If the accused is unable to pay the fine, he will have to face 2 months imprisonment as well,” the judge said in his ruling. The accused confessed his crime in court. He recorded his statement in court according to Section 164 and confessed his crime.
The Race Course Police arrested the Anis Iqbal who fled from the scene after snatching a purse from a woman in Rawalpindi’s Dhok Chaudhrian area. In the video, the suspect, who was on a motorcycle, had snatched a purse from a burqa-clad woman passing through a street in Rawalpindi’s Dhok Chaudhrian.
