A graduate of the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa with a B.S. in horticulture technology, Teves currently serves as a county extension agent for the University’s College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources – a position he has held for over 40 years. Together with his wife, he owns and operates Puakala Farms on Hawaiian Home Lands in Ho‘olehua, Moloka‘i.
The Nāʻiwa Homesteaders Program will host a two-day workshop for Molokaʻi’s Nā‘iwa Homesteaders Community on Thur., Sept. 28, and Fri., Sept. 29, 2023, starting at 5 p.m. HST. The workshop will take place at Kulana ʻŌiwi, the Office of Hawaiian Affairs / Department of Hawaiian Homelands Conference Room on Molokaʻi.
The Department of Hawaiian Home Lands, through its contractor Goodfellow Bros., will install new valves on the Hoʻolehua Water System on Molokaʻi during the evenings of Feb. 21 and 23, 2023, weather permitting.
More than 363 acres is being returned to the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands on the island of Molokaʻi as the US Air Force moves to “right-size” its footprint.
The grant funds will allow HCL to launch the 3-year Native Hawaiian Owner-Builder Project on Moloka‘i. The project will serve 58 Nāʻiwa lessee families and five Native Hawaiian builders to increase their capacity to build and own homes on Hawaiian Home Lands.
