New Delhi, May 7 : The Indian Navy has established a Covid Care Centre in Odisha s Khurda district for treatment of people from the deadly virus.
Set up at training establishment, INS Chilka, under the aegis of Naval Officer-in- Charge of Odisha, the 150 bed isolation centre with additional 15 beds with oxygen facility at INHS Nivarini, the naval hospital, is all geared up for treating mild symptomatic Covid patients.
Dedicated doctors and paramedical staff from the district, along with personnel from the station community, will be functioning 24x7 at the Covid Care Centre to provide adequate facilities and care to all its patients. ....

New Delhi, May 6 (IANS): Three Indian Navy warships INS Kochi, INS Tabar and INS Trikand are currently enroute Mumbai as part of the Operation Samudra Setu-II ferrying Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) and associated medical equipment from the Persian Gulf to strengten India s fight against the raging second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.
INS Kochi and INS Tabar departed Kuwait while INS Trikand left from Doha on Thursday, carrying a total of seven 20-tonne liquid oxygen tanks and 1,400 oxygen cylinders.
INS Kolkata and INS Airavat are already enroute from Kuwait and Singapore, respectively, with more than 4,000 oxygen cylinders, two 20 MT oxygen filled containers and eight oxygen tanks. ....

Severe shortage of human resources, coupled with flooding of Covid-19 patients, has thrown hospital infrastructure completely out of gear in most of the towns in Gujarat. At several cities, hospitals have no other option but deny admission to Covid-19 patients owing to shortage of either trained healthcare staff or medical-grade oxygen.

Gandhinagar: Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced that a 1200-bed hospital will be set up by DRDO here at helipad ground in collaboration with Tata Trust.
Shah said, Ahmedabad will also have isolation centres for which private clubs like Karnavati club, ADC, GSC, Rajpath Club, Umiya Pariwar have given their consent. The infrastructural facilities like beds and other expenses will be borne by these organisations. While, services like primary treatment, medicines, meal etc expenses will be borne by the Gujarat government. This initiative will be replicated across Gujarat. ....
