Columnist Abul Maksud laid to rest

Eminent columnist, researcher, writer and journalist Syed Abul Maksud was laid to eternal rest in the capital’s Azimpur graveyard on Wednesday after Maghrib prayer.
Earlier, the third and final namaz-e-janaza of the veteran intellectual was held at Dhaka University Central Mosque after Asr prayer while his second namaz-e-janaza was held on the National Press Club premises at around 2:45pm.
A pall of gloom descended on the journalist community when the freezing van carrying Maksud’s body entered the club around 2:15pm.
His friends and colleagues, and journalists and their professional organisations including National Press Club, Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ), Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ), Dhaka Reporters’ Unity (DRU), Dhaka Sub Editors’ Council (DSEC), Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS), and Bangladesh Press Institute, among others, paid their last tribute to him there

Eminent columnist, researcher, writer and journalist Syed Abul Maksud was laid to eternal rest at capital’s Azimpur graveyard after the Maghrib prayers on Wednesday.
