India-Day celebration marks beginning of centenary celebrations of Auckland Indian Association Wednesday, February 17, 2021 Rizwan Mohammad India Day celebrations held on Saturday, February 13, at Mahatma Gandhi Centre in Auckland marked the beginning of centenary celebrations of Auckland Indian Association – arguably one of the oldest Indian community organisations in New Zealand. The event which was hosted by Auckland Indian Association in partnership with the Indian High Commission and in close collaboration with other Auckland Indian Diaspora organisations witnessed enthusiastic participation from hundreds of community members. 33-year-old Kiwi Indian wins Bharat Ko Janiye Quiz, invited for Bharat Darshan after Covid Thursday, January 14, 2021 Rizwan Mohammad A 33-year-old Kiwi Indian pharmacist based in Auckland has won the third edition of Bharat Ko Janiye Quiz organised by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. Dhairesh Patel came across the competition earlier in 2020 posted on High Commission of India’s Facebook page and decided to participate in the annual competition. Bharat Ko Janiye Quiz was first started in 2015-16 in order to strengthen the engagement with young overseas Indians and encourage them to know more about their country of origin.
