Five new businesses are coming to the Jackson Crossing Mall. The former Sears will be converted into five new storefronts, said Patrick Vassar Director of Underwriting for Ignite Funding. Ignite Funding is based in Las Vegas and has developments in 28 states, Vassar said. They chose Jackson because there was a lot of potential for the site. ....

Jackson County sheriff’s deputies responded to the Dollar General, 811 E. McDevitt Ave., at 10:11 p.m., Dec. 23, police said. A man shoved the clerk and took money from a cash register, before fleeing, police said. No one was injured.
