Santa Clarita Valley Placed On Flash Flood Watch, Lake Hughes Prepared To Evacuate
Santa Clarita has been placed on flash flood watch by the National Weather Service (NWS), and areas near Lake Hughes have been asked to be ready to evacuate the area.
In anticipation of the rains Santa Clarita is expected to receive in the next several days, the National Weather Service has placed the valley on Flash Flood Watch for Thursday, Jan. 28.
Specifically, the flash flood warning is to be in effect from 4 p.m. Thursday until 4 a.m. Friday, Jan 29.
There is a 40 percent chance of rain Wednesday night, according to the NWS extended seven-day forecast.
