皇都帶動的重建士紳化 | 全民保育行動

保育，留住歷史是美事，但地產主導保育，帶動重建，美其名活化，實為漂白歷史，拆毀城市。新世界留住皇都戲院，另一邊廂，拆掉附近超過60年歷史，同屬現代主義建築風格的皇都戲院大廈、天宮台及繼園街唐樓。皇都戲院的保育，保留建築，但改變北角的生態，令其晉身為士紳化的地標，伴着更多重建接踵而來。平衡保育與發展，於目前保育及歷史建築評級法列落後情況下，只淪為新豪宅項目的美麗新賣點。北角的新世界早前天宮台洋樓水磨石樓梯被拆毀，引發不少關注。而皇都早前的展覽亦可算成功的展覽，吸引不少名人打咭留念，一票難求，昔日街坊商場，包裝為美倫美奐大堂，重現六、七十年代北角的文化風貌。隨着展覽結束，街坊商場不復再見，將被改頭換面，變成新穎商場與表演場地。而旁邊的皇都大廈亦被清拆重建，保育戲� ....
