We, the undersigned groups, urge the Ministry of Environment to stop their campaign of harassment against local forestry activists and community members. On Friday morning, local officials working for the Ministry of Environment arrested five forestry activists who were wrapping trees in Buddhist cloth and collecting evidence of widespread illegal logging occurring inside Prey Lang Wildlife Sanctuary.

India’s impunity must stop, UN must intervene
Islamabad, January 06, 2021 (PPI-OT): 1. We demand strongly that India’s impunity on Kashmir’s freedom and human rights activists must be stopped immediately.
2. India is reigning its occupation troops on the Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ and K) region with no regards to the rights of the Kashmiris for a dignified and independent existence.
3. With the current grave situation that is facing the Kashmiris in the sieged region of the IIOJ and K, the brutality of a barbaric scale by more than 900,000 Indian troops against Kashmiris are a clear violation of all international laws. It is more than just an occupation but extermination.
Telling the whole story: The constructive journalism challenge
With the media increasingly being accused of a negativity bias, more journalists are turning to constructive journalism. The final GMF digital session of 2020 discussed the possibilities and challenges of this approach.
Too much doom and gloom is causing more of us to switch off the news. But what if the media had a new approach to reporting that inspired people, because it didn’t just identify problems but also explored solutions?
The approach is called constructive journalism, and it’s being taken up by a growing number of media outlets that believe that journalism needs to reinvent itself for the future.
