There are times when Maine feels a little like a mini version of Florida. Not because of the food, the beaches, or the tourists. Nope. Sometimes The Pine Tree State (AKA Vacationland) feels a little like Florida is because of some of the crime stories that come from Maine.
According to WGME, two people have been arrested in Buxton following an alleged robbery and carjacking.
Initially, 35-year-old Devan Goodson, of Lyman, claimed she picked up a hitchhiker on Main Street near the Bars Mills Bridge on Monday. She claimed the hitchhiker asked her to stop at the store. She stopped, he went into the store, and then ran out carrying two bottles of Fireball. When the man exited the store, he threatened her with a knife and told her to drive off. The suspect then reportedly took off.

BUXTON, Maine Buxton police have charged a man and woman with stealing Fireball Whiskey from a local convenience store Monday afternoon and then falsely reporting that they d been robbed and the victims of a carjacking.
Devan Goodson, 35, of Lyman, called police just after 2 p.m. Monday to report a possible robbery and carjacking on Main Street, Buxton police said in a release.
