It’s called NOVO, which means new in Portuguese. And it’s on 9577 Huebner Road on the city s northwest side. They have everything from acai bowls to smoothies and soon, coffee I like it and it s something that I wanted to give to everybody. It’s something they can enjoy kids to grandparents, said Chef Deuk. He s from Iksan South Korea. but he’s lived in San Antonio for decades. And he says the way the city is developing, it makes sense to start a dream here. ....

His two locations of Yummi Japanese Restaurant kept the chef/owner so busy, he found himself canceling family vacations and missing out on family dinners at home. Cha began scaling back his commitments, selling both Yummi locations to family members, a decision he jokes was good for both of us because the [restaurants] are doing better. He ramped up his exercise routine (Cha s a runner and cyclist), and decided that for his next business venture, he wanted to simplify everything from business hours to the recipes themselves. ....

NOVO Açaí Bowls, a new açaí bowl and smoothie shop owned by Deukbok Cha, former chef-owner of San Antonio’s Yummi Japanese Restaurants, will open on May 15, mySA reports. The new eatery will specialize in healthy offerings packed with fresh fruit, protein and good vibes. Cha told the news site that working long hours in his restaurants was keeping him from enjoying family time and that he often found himself canceling vacations and missing out on dinners at home. ....
