Conservatives used to stand for. basic principles and basic, you know, moral standing. so i think that she is probably going to at least consider running for president in the future. i don t think southeast going to win. i think she would very much be a protest candidate. but i think we ve seen over the last five years that donald trump is not going to defeat himself with republican voters. we kind of dance around him. he s going to squash everybody. and we need more people willing to go right at him. and here we have one, and i m really glad to see it. ashley parker, let s talk about this and the divisions in the republican party, nationally. i want to play some sound from the cpac attendees, talking about their choices for 2024. trump all the way. you know, i don t think anybody can pull it away like he can. not desantos, not pence, not definitely not pence. i don t think desantos would be stupid enough to challenge ....
Is to divide the military. but i think it s really a conscious effort. these generals, they re a bunch of, you know, softies and they just care about keeping their prestige and their status. and there s this almost explicit appeal that to lower ranks. that nothing be done out of the ordinary, they make sure that orders are lawful and ethical and so forth. i mean, i think the threat remains, and the behavior of the republicans has been so appalling over the last six months, it s not quite at the peak it was on january 6th, but it s close. here s the experiment. if trump gets re-elected or even if desantos or one of these other guys gets elected, will they keep the joint chiefs of staff that they inherent, which has been the norm for decades? ....
From going to work. there is a real good possibility there is a possibility the president is watching you right now in the white house. what would you say to the president regarding how hard it is to get people to come to work now? it s pretty simple. take being productive because they don t know what s going on. we are working hard every day to satisfy our customers and just ask that you remember your server and be patient. all right. well we are remembering you folks and april, i know you have the breakfast rush about to start. we thank you and george for joining us today down in florida. i would say one more thing, the good news is that governor kemp in georgia and governor desantos in florida have both made this thing go away on the 26th of this month. those two states are not accepting any more government covid funds. steve: you are absolutely right. ....
Time tell me how you see this, how important is it for a president and, truly, logistically, what is his role in all of this? well, i think the white house made the right decision. the president made a wise decision. the worst thing a president can do in the face of a natural disaster, which is what we re going to have here in florida, is to seem insensitive or detached and traveling abroad would certainly convey a lack of solidarity with the people of florida. people here are very anxious. a lot of gasoline stations around here have run out of gas. some supermarkets have run out of water. so there is a lot of anxiety. floridians are used to this. but that doesn t make it any easier. so the president made the right decision and governor de santos his first press conference for a major hurricane was a success. floridians expect their governors to convey clarity, to show they are in charge, to send ....

[ inaudible question ] some cities are going to fight it, but if you notice, they re generally high crime cities. if you look at chicago, they re fighting it, and you look at other cities, they re fighting it. many of those cities are high crime cities and they re sanctuary cities. the state of florida is now ending all sanctuary cities. he s doing a very smart thing. governor desantos, he s ending all sanctuary cities in the state of florida. and i tell you, governor desantis has been fantastic. he s right on the ball and we have others that are following. you ll be seeing a lot of that. people are tired of sanctuary cities and what it does and the crime it brings. they re very tired of it. [ inaudible question ] well, we ll see. fresh off of her speech at the south carolina democratic convention, senator kamala harris joins me here on set. ....
