We are delighted to announce that the U.S. Embassy to Canada has awarded MIGS a grant to organize a virtual speaker series titled “Countering Digital Authoritarianism”.  MIGS will bring American and Canadian experts together to  discuss how new technologies are being used to suppress human rights.
MIGS was selected to host a panel discussion titled “Spotlight on Digital Authoritarianism” at the 10th edition of RightsCon taking place June 7-11, 2021.

University of Eastern Finland: New international research project to support achievement of ambitious climate goals
Scholars of climate law at the University of Eastern Finland are participating in NDC ASPECTS, an extensive, international project seeking to provide research-based knowledge to support the achievement of the goals of the Paris Agreement, and to promote increasingly ambitious Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).
To be launched in May, the project has secured three-year funding from the EU’s Horizon 2020 programme. The total budget is five million euros, with UEF’s budget in the project amounting to nearly 340,000 euros. ....
