ENNISKILLEN care home Meadow View Senior Living has been officially taken over by a new company to enhance standards of care delivered . On Monday (April 26), Kathryn Homes took over sole responsibility for the operations of a portfolio of 12 care homes, including Meadow View, previously managed by Runwood Homes in Northern Ireland. In a press release, it was stated that a local board has been appointed to oversee the portfolio with the aim of enhancing the standards of care delivered . This announcement comes following a report by The Impartial Reporter in February of this year where it was understood that Runwood Homes was rebranding to Kathryn Homes.

From April 26 Kathryn Homes is solely responsible for the operations of all 12 care homes, including Kintullagh House and Rose Court, previously managed by Runwood Homes.
The homes now under the management of Kathryn Homes are Carrickfergus Manor, Glenabbey Manor, Kintullagh House, Madelayne Court, Magherafelt Manor, Meadow View, Oak Tree Manor, Orchard Lodge, Rose Court, Weavers House, Willow Grove, and Clifton Nursing Home.
The experienced Board will be led by Theresa Nixon, a former Director of Assurance in Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority (RQIA), where she was responsible for the annual inspection regime and had oversight and responsibility for any regulatory actions required. A second former senior official from Northern Ireland s health watchdog has taken up a post at disgraced care home firm Runwood Homes, it can be revealed.
Theresa Nixon, former Director of Assurance at the Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority (RQIA), has been appointed to lead the Board of the company s Northern Ireland branch, which is currently undergoing a rebrand.
She joins her former colleague, Dermot Parsons, former interim chief executive of the RQIA, who is taking up the role of managing director of the firm.
Under the rebrand, the company will become known as Kathryn Homes (NI).
On Thursday night, the daughter of a resident who died after sustaining a head injury in a home owned by Runwood Homes appealed to Mr Parsons and Ms Nixon to help her uncover the truth about her mother s tragic death.
