The school is planning to ban former running back Derius Guice from campus and they are taking his name out of the school’s record books. Guice holds the school’s single-game rushing record, rushing for 285 yards against Texas A&M in November of 2016. The Baton Rouge product is also the fifth all-time leading rusher at LSU. But two women accuse Guice of sexual assault in 2016. He denies those claims. More discipline is also coming for LSU athletic administrator Verge Ausberry, who has already been suspended for 30 days. Ausberry will not be allowed to attend LSU football games during the 2021-22 season. Former LSU tennis player Abby Owens said her Dad told tennis coach Julia Sell what happened, but Owens said Sell called her a liar. “I will never forget how I felt, because everything that I thought would happen if I were to tell someone was happening, I wasn’t going to be believed,” said Owens. Owens says she felt unvalued and unprotected and left LSU. She also says she battled drugs and alcohol and depression after the assault. Owens says she has learned that Coach Sell reported the accusation to senior Associate A-D Miriam Seger, but the case was never fully investigated. ....
