this whole ordeal lasted 28 hours. 9:00 earlier today they were able to tazer the unidentified man. they arrested him and took him into custody. tonight they re still here on the scene of the 600-block of hill wood avenue where it all happened. it was less than lethal force used. reporter: the falls church police department police officer described a tense moment that put an end to the 28-hour standoff. after he essentially was tased, he surrendered to the swat team. reporter: police originally got the call for a domestic disturbance here at about 4:30 on monday. the unidentified man at the center of all of this refused to come out of the house. police say they had reason to believe he doused himself and the house with gasoline and at some point he fired off a gun. we heard a shot or what we thought to be a shot fired. and later confirmed through the family members that he was in possession of a weapon. reporter: neighbors looked on. many were not allowed in ....
