Im the denman professor of American History at the university of texas in san antonio and is my tag says im on the Advisory Board and im an author and so it is wonderful. Im also a veteran. I was colonel for a year when i taught at the citadel, but today i went to say that im so pleased that were witnessing a great reunion a great kind of reckoning coming up against we have been meeting virtually for the past few months, but isnt it great to be back in person and have an afternoon where we explore such wonderful topics as race and lincoln and leadership in lincoln. It was in his when he was middle age in the 1780s. So jefferson was just going into his 40s, and he almost didnt travel to france at all. He had been asked twice to go over there to be ambassador from the United States and a declined it both times. B
