With Malaysian Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin declaring a state of emergency to combat the spread COVID-19 in Malaysia, the Southeast Asian country now finds itself in sociopolitical territory not ventured into since decades ago.
Considering that Malaysia (and Malaya before the nation went independent) has already had multiple instances of declared emergencies, most Malaysians today will no doubt be wondering what to expect from the one only just implemented.
