A 55-year-old Chapel Hill man was injured Wednesday morning after he was attacked by a Scottish Highland bull in Rutherford County that was eventually shot and killed by a responding deputy.

The man who was attacked by a Scottish Highland bull died Wednesday, a Rutherford County Sheriff’s deputy said. 55-Year-old Joseph Young of the Chapel Hill area died after the bull attacked him near Eagleville, said Deputy Jared Keith. The medical examiner’s office will perform an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
