Covid-19: Strict restrictions imposed in Rajshahi, parts of Khulna, Naogaon United News of Bangladesh (UNB) Bangladesh, June 2 The local administration of some of the border districts have imposed strict restrictions for seven days to check the transmission of the Indian variant of coronavirus. The decisions were taken after separate meetings as the government allowed the local administrations to impose lockdown if the situation worsens in their areas. Rajshahi Deputy Commissioner Abdul Jalil announced the restrictions on Wednesday afternoon. According to the fresh restrictions, none will be allowed to leave their houses from 7 pm to 8 am without any emergency reason in Rajshahi until June 9.

The drives have been conducted in Khulna city and its nine upazilas in the three days under the direction of Khulna district Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Helal Hossain, our Khulna correspondent reports quoting district administration sources. On the third day of the seven-day strict lockdown today, mobile courts in Khulna fined 36 people Tk 22,950 for defying the restrictions, the sources said.

All set to observe ‘Amar Ekushey’ in Khulna Our Correspondent 19th February, 2021 11:55:15 KHULNA: Different government, semi-government, autonomous bodies, socio-cultural organisations, political parties and educational institutions have completed all preparations to observe the “Amar Ekushey and International Mother Language Day-2021” on February 21 (Sunday). As per government directives, at least five people from different organisations will be allowed to go to the Shaheed Minar premises in memory of the Language Heroes and at least two persons could place wreaths on it, said Mohammad Helal Hossain, Deputy Commissioner of Khulna. According to officials, the district and upazila administrations and other organisations have chalked out elaborate programmes to observe the day in a befitting manner.
