reporter: those critical moments of cpr likely saved dennis platt s life. if he wasn t there i wouldn t be here he always knew somebody, a specific person, stepped up and saved dad s life, but we never got to meet them reporter: that changed last month, after a long road to recovery, dennis got to meet leo. where was i you were laying right here on the one-year anniversary of the accident, we met up with leo at the site, and he kind of walked us through everything. thankful for the cadet that stepped up. reporter: the platt family thankful for the cadet that stepped up it s because of leo s fearlessness to jump into action, his wisdom, his strength, and his selflessness that dad s body did not suffer from lack of oxygen. he saved my dad s life, not just physically but in mind and spirit, as well. reporter: now there s another word this cadet can proudly wear on his sleeve leo, you will forever be remembered as a hero.
