Morris, former Norwalk Public Schools Human Relations Officer, has accused NPS of discrimination and retaliation against him in the elimination of his position. The lawsuit was filed in mid-2017. Morris’s attorney Daniel Angelone has argued that evidence shows racist and discriminatory attitudes towards Morris and other black Norwalkers. Angelone cited emails in which then-BoE Chairman Mike Lyons called Morris a “snake” who needs to be eliminated, after building a strong case so as to “avoid a race war.” ....
No details in Southington police lawsuit settlement No details in Southington police lawsuit settlement May 08, 2021 10:52PM By Jesse Buchanan , Record-Journal staff SOUTHINGTON â The town has settled a lawsuit over a fatal drunk driving crash but hasnât released details of the settlement approved by the Town Council. The lawsuit against Southington police officer Matthew Vose has been in court for years following the crash in 2015. On the advice of attorneys working for the townâs insurance company, the council voted unanimously in favor of the settlement on April 26. Details of the settlement werenât discussed during the council vote. Town Manager Mark Sciota and Town Attorney Jeremy Taylor said this week that they didnât have a copy of the settlement and referred questions to attorney Dennis Durao of Karsten & Tallberg LLC. The firm is representing the town, police chief Jack Daly and Vose, who were all named in the ....
