West Virginia’s own Jayne Anne Phillips, won her first Pulitzer Prize on May 6, 2024, for her novel “Night Watch.” Born and raised in Buckhannon, she is an alumnae of WVU and loved growing up in the Mountain State. She still finds inspiration in Appalachia.
