Shipping delays due to wild winter weather may add further woes to the COVID-19 vaccine rollout in the commonwealth, Governor Tom Wolf’s administration said Thursday.
Lindsey Maudlin, Department of Health senior advisor for COVID-19 Response, said during a news conference Thursday that several delays that would impact shipments of COVID-19 vaccines in Pennsylvania.
“This weather has affected the shipment of both the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines from the manufacturing facilities,” Maudlin said. “Moderna vaccine was not shipped on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday from the distributor. Pfizer was not shipped on Monday, and limited doses were shipped on both Tuesday and Wednesday.”
